Moscow: The Kremlin announced that Kirill Dmitriev, an aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin, will report on his recent discussions with American officials in Florida upon his return to Moscow. Dmitriev's meetings over the weekend focused on advancing U.S. President Donald Trump's peace plan for Ukraine.

According to Anadolu Agency, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed Dmitriev's schedule, stating that he is expected to fly to Moscow, where he will brief President Putin. Peskov noted that Dmitriev had "productive and constructive" discussions with the American delegation, emphasizing Russia's commitment to achieving peace in Ukraine and valuing U.S. efforts in resolving the conflict.

Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, representing the U.S., acknowledged the productive nature of the talks via social media platform X, highlighting the joint efforts of U.S., Ukrainian, and European representatives in Florida. These meetings are part of ongoing negotiations that began in November, aiming to establish a peace framework to end the nearly four-year Russia-Ukraine war, based on a U.S.-drafted proposal.

President Putin was in St. Petersburg on Sunday for a Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting and is participating in an informal Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) meeting on Monday. Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesman Peskov expressed understanding regarding Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's absence from the CIS meeting due to a busy schedule, reaffirming the strong Moscow-Baku relationship.

Azerbaijan's presidential administration, via state news agency Azertac, confirmed Aliyev's unavailability for the informal summit, emphasizing Azerbaijan's commitment to regular participation in CIS events and regional cooperation.
